A letter from the Old Ottawa East Community Association:

Concerned Residents and Community Association Leaders,

As a reminder, the NCC is holding a public meeting this Wednesday evening. This evening meeting will be the only opportunity for members of the community to express their concerns and disapproval to the NCC of the Ottawa Convention Centre’s proposals to erect digital signs on its South Wall, as the NCC only holds one such meeting per year open to public questions and comments.

I cannot be the lone voice on this issue before the NCC if we are to have any hope of stopping the OCC from placing large digital signs on the South Wall this year.

Please plan to attend and to address the NCC regarding your concerns this Wednesday evening! The meeting will be held at NCC Headquarters:

40 Elgin Street, Rooms 323/324
Ottawa, Ontario

The agenda for the Annual Public Meeting is:

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

  1. 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm: Registration
  2. 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm: Presentation
  3. 7:45 pm to 9:30 pm: Question and comment period

I believe that you will need to register to make comments at the public meeting and can do so during the registration period on-site. I believe that each person will be limited to five minutes or less.

Thanks,

Steve Furr
Old Ottawa East Community Association

P.S. the meeting of the Board of Directors during the day is scheduled to deal with the pending OCC Proposal to sell naming rights, including sponsor promotion through digital signage on the South Wall, at 10:50 AM (the agenda is subject to change). There will be no opportunity for public comment at that time.
