1. 2026 ASH Annual Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2026 ASH Annual Meeting!

It was wonderful to see so many members of ASH at the 2026 Annual Meeting. If you missed it, watch for a full update in the June issue of Image. Special thanks to the Environment Committee for organizing the plant sale, to departing ASH Board member Nick Harrison for his work on the Living Gazebo, and to allsaints for donating the space. Next year we will have snacks and a microphone!

4. Bus Plastic Seats Pilot

On April 2, OC Transpo launched a six-month pilot project to test new plastic seats on a bus to see how well they work in everyday service.  Other cities have adopted similar seating for public transit, reporting easier cleaning and reduced maintenance costs. Bus #4715 is the specific vehicle participating in this pilot project. Feedback will be collected via online surveys. The pilot project runs until October 2. Click here for more information and to participate in the online survey.

1. ASH Arts Event for Neurodivergent Youth - May 30

Sandy Hill youth, especially neurodiverse youth, are invited to participate in an arts activity on May 30 from 10 am-12 pm at a new community space at 320 Chapel Street, across from allsaints at the corner of Laurier Avenue East and Chapel Street.

You may have seen Ben and his amazing clay creatures at events around Sandy Hill over the past year. Join Ben to learn how to make these fun animals yourself or just have fun playing with clay.

This will be a neurodiverse-friendly activity. Please RSVP on the ASH NationBuilder site and email  ASH to let us know if there's anything that will help make participation more enjoyable.

Giveaway Weekend is the perfect opportunity to clear out the things you no longer need, help a neighbour find something they’ll love, and keep perfectly good items out of the landfill.

Simply put your gently-used items at the curb and let someone else give it a second life. Then take a stroll through the neighbourhood and see what hidden gems are out there waiting for you. You never know what you might find!
