The new footbridge over the Rideau River at Strathcona Park opened on Friday, December 4, 2015 with Mayor Watson, Councillors Fleury and Nussbaum in attendance. See the Ottawa Citizen article and video. Sandy Hill and Overbrook people held a Lantern Gathering on the bridge the same evening.
The footbridge has been officially named the Adàwe Crossing (Passerelle Adàwe). Adàwe is an Algonquin term meaning “to trade”. http://ottawa.ca/en/news/
